Spring Creek, a class two trout stream, meanders through Lodi including Goeres Park. Portions of the spring-fed stream never freeze resulting in a large population of brown trout and mallard ducks.

On Wisconsin Highway 113 in downtown Lodi is a small creek-side park where visitors can buy dried corn from vending machines to feed the wild ducks.

In this area is a small stone basket. Every year a duck builds a nest there. When the first mallard settled in that location in 1948, it was nicknamed "Susie" by the granddaughter of the police chief.

Since 1948, Susie the Duck has been the town's official mascot. Each August, thousands of rubber ducks ‘race’ down the creek as one of the festivities during Susie the Duck Day.

On the Fridays of the summer months, the downtown plays hosts to Farmers’ Markets, Art Walks and small community gatherings well attended by visitors and residents alike.

The downtown thrives on local shops, restaurants and businesses built in the community and serviced by its residents.

Spring Creek runs from the Lodi Marsh State Natural Area and empties into nearby Lake Wisconsin. A 2.5-mile segment of the Ice Age Trail crosses the marsh and is often used by hikers and birders.

Due to its scenic views and natural beauty, the marsh is often a spot for canoe paddlers willing to portage fallen trees or winter enthusiasts wanting to cross country ski or snowshoe.

A short drive will take you to Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area. Here you can see spectacular views of the Wisconsin River Valley.

The State Natural Area is about 68 acres in size and is located along the 1,000-mile Ice Age Trail. Gibraltar Bluff stands some 1,234 feet above sea level with sheer 200-foot cliffs.

During the summer season, visitors park at the base of Gibraltar Rock and then hike up the trail to the top of the bluff. While there are few steps, many find the winding climb quite challenging.

If you want to cross the Wisconsin River to visit nearby Devil’s Lake State Park, you can take the Merrimac Ferry. It is Wisconsin’s only free ferry and it crosses the river in under 10 minutes.

Fall is not complete without a trip to Treinen Farm. People come from all around to explore this family farm and their award-winning corn maze coupled with horse-drawn wagon rides.
